In fact, your man may not be thinking about skin care at all! Maybe he is one of those virile men who were brought up thinking that grooming is for the ladies and that spending too much time was feminine. Today, most men are keen about their appearance, and those who care about their skin are performing better, not only in winning the ladies, but also in their jobs and positions in society. In fact, the men’s skin care industry is booming today and is valued at a monstrous $122 billion. You would probably agree that most men, more than women, are likely to adopt unhealthy eating habits.. Just like how the right combination of wholesome carbs, vitamin-rich vegetables, and lean proteins can fuel his muscles, the right foods can improve his skin sparkle and appearance. Make foods rich in minerals, essential fatty acids, vitamins, and other antioxidants in your everyday diets. If his skin is excessively dry, what he needs more than cleansers and exfoliators is a great moisturizing mask. As the lady in his life, you already know that you don’t necessarily need to purchase expensive packaged products when you can prepare a face mask right in your kitchen. For instance, you can mash up medium-sized banana into a smooth paste and gently apply it to his face and neck; it can make a perfect face mask for him. Other natural face mask ingredients include honey, vinegar, yogurt, oatmeal, lemon, mustard, and eggs.
He probably uses an aftershave product that is filled with contaminants such as parabens, dye, perfume, and alcohol which burns and irritates his skin. He also probably never uses sunscreen and his skin has to endure the harshness of UV radiation all day as he works. The best thing you can do for him is swap his aftershave or body lotion with a sunscreen, which not only soothes raw skin after a close shave but also protects him against deadly UV rays. Select a sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher and one that won’t clog his pores. You can also supplement his diet with nutrients and antioxidants that are thought to have a sun-screening effect from the inside out. Such nutrients include vitamin E, beta-carotene, lycopene, and omega-3 fatty acids (4).
